Since ItemEyes is a photo-based app it allows you to tag and document "groups" of items in a single photo, versus having to take individual photos of each item. Simply take a photo of a wall, or a room, or a collection of items; then tag the valuable items in that photo and document them immediately or at a later date.
Instead of dealing with 200+ photos of items and valuables in your home or business, you will have less photos to work with. This is much more efficient and manageable.
Step 1: Download the ItemEyes App from
Apple App or
Google Play store.
Step 2: Log in and set up user name and password.
NOTE: A FREE trial period of 14 days will start. After 14 days you will be charged $1.99 per month for the app. You can cancel at any time, but if you do cancel, you won’t have access to your tagged photos. We will securely store this information for 90 days if you decide you want to return and use the app again.
WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU
Once your account has been created the HOME SCREEN will appear.
The home screen will always show your most recent photos. At first, it will be blank/empty, but will fill up as you add photos.
After you start adding photos, you'll be able to click on any of the photos to add or edit tags, forward them, or delete any of them.
Photo Reference: Home screen shows example photos taken by the user.
To start off, you’ll want to add locations to organize your photos by clicking on CATALOG at the bottom of the app.
Next, click CREATE NEW LOCATION to add a location where your items are located. For example, Dining Room, Guest Bedroom, Living Room, Primary Bedroom, Study, Wine Cellar. Or it could be Lake House, City House, and Beach House.
After you add a location, at any time you can edit the name by clicking the three dots (...) to the right of that file.
Create a location under Catalog titled “Private” or “Safe” if you prefer not to reveal the exact location. Or, create a location titled “Collection” if you want to separately catalog a collection of items that may be physically located in multiple rooms.

Two ways to add a photo while in the app, tap on the CAMERA icon at the bottom.
Photo Tips
After you have taken or selected your image from your library, you'll need to CATALOG YOUR IMAGE. Assign that singular image to a location.
Photo Reference: popup windows you'll see when you tap on the camera icon
Now that you have cataloged your image (assigned it to a location) simply TAP on a single item in the photo with your fingertip to create a
TAG (+) for that specific item.
This will cause a screen to pop-up with fields to be completed by you next.
Photo Reference: the image to the right shows multiple items with
(+) signs hovering over each item. This is what your photo of a wall would like with various valuable pieces tagged individually.
TITLE
Enter a TITLE for the item. For instance, it may be an Antique Venetian Bowl, Peter Max Painting, or Tiffany Champagne Flutes, etc. In other words, the title should be short but identifiable.
DESCRIPTION
Type in a full item description of the item. Document the color, measurements, artist, materials it's made of, etc.
You can always COPY and PASTE the description from the Notes tool on your cell, or from an email or even from a resourceful website.
TIP >> Open Google lens on your cell phone. In the search bar, tap on the tiny camera icon and select the item your tagging from your photos. When searching for a similar item online, you can enter the link (web address) to that site that sells the item or has information about the item. It could be a link to a brick and mortar store, eBay, an auction site, artist's website, or just an informational link about the item.
Enter the
full URL including http(s):// in this field. This will be a 'clickable' link.

Save
Now that you
completed tagging your item and you're satisfied with the information in each field -- click on
SAVE.
If you want to change and/or add anything, you can always tap on the field you want to make changes to, make your change and SAVE.
Your newly tagged photo will be saved in the CATALOG (location) under the catalog you assigned it to.

Then come back to it at a later date by opening the CATALOG, search the image and tap on the (+) sign hovering the item.
